CREATIVE_Posters and the Minimalist Movement

Posters are cool.

Posters have always been cool. From the dawn of time, posters have been cool. From hanging them on your bedroom wall as a teen to continuing your romance with posters well into your adult life and instead of hanging them on your bedroom wall with tape (hello, not 13 years old anymore), your posters are now specially framed so that they actually fit in seamlessly with your overall adult vibe (#adulting).

Throughout all of this, posters remain cool. One single poster could capture a whole movement or feeling, one poster can really say it all! Recently I’ve come across some amazing conceptual designs that use posters as their inspiration. These concepts have blown my mind as they are clever, sophisticated and well, cool. The concept is called Minimalist Poster Design where digital artists use a specific iconic poster as inspiration and create a modern and minimalist version. The reason I find this so fascinating is that it really goes to show how effective posters can be at branding and in turn, reaching a dedicated and loyal audience. Even when the elements of the poster are stripped and re-imagined, the design is still very much identifiable and iconic. How cool!
